About Gentle Yoga

This 5-week class, led by Yoga instructor Karen Blank (RYT), is limited to 12 survivors.

Classes are 75 minutes in length and participants get the most benefit when present for the full duration of the class. Please respect your fellow classmates – arrive a little early so class can start on time without interruptions!

Gentle Yoga is designed for breast and gynecological cancer survivors to help create freedom, space, and confidence.

This class will use guided meditation, breath work, gentle movements, and therapeutic / restorative poses. Focus will be on reducing stress, fatigue, and pain, and finding creativity in movements within a safe environment.

Attendance Guidelines

This Gentle Yoga Session* is 5 weeks in duration. If a participant misses more than one class and wishes to enroll in a future session, they will be wait-listed pending an available spot.

* Make-up classes are not offered and drop-ins are not allowed.

Remember, you must register in advance if you want to attend. We are enrolling participants on a first come, first serve basis!

About Karen Blank (RYT)

Karen BlankKaren Blank is a graduate of Monroe Community College where she earned a degree in Recreation Therapy / Applied Science with a minor in Physical Education. She attended Monroe Community College again, focusing on Food Production & Nutrition.

Karen has almost 30 years experience in the health and wellness Industry. During those years, Karen has taught group exercise classes, conducted personal trainings, directed facilities, developed wellness educational programs, created The Whole Approach business, and is a faculty trainer for the YMCA of USA Health & Well-Being Industry.

In addition to her degree, her certifications include; a nationally accredited ACE Group Exercise and Personal Training Certification, the highest Certification within the YMCA of USA system, Fitness Specialist, IM=X Certified Instructor, Yoga Fit Certified Instructor, Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) Certified Program Evaluator, and she is CPR/AED Certified.
