free 6-week Gentle Yoga class
for breast cancer survivors and gynecologic cancer survivors
living and working in and around the Geneva area!

Note: We Share the Air! The Breast Cancer Coalition is a Scent Free Environment. We ask that all individuals, including guests and consumers, refrain from wearing scented products at our office, program locations, and events we host in the community.


Monday evenings for 6 weeks beginning on January 28 and ending on March 11, 2019.
(No class on February 18.)

About Gentle Yoga

This 6-week class, led by Yoga instructor Margaret Newland, is limited to 12 survivors.

Classes are 75 minutes in length and participants get the most benefit when present for the full duration of the class.

Gentle Yoga is designed for breast and gynecological cancer survivors to help create freedom, space, and confidence.

This class will use breath work, gentle movements, and restorative poses.

Attendance Guidelines

This Gentle Yoga Session* is 6 weeks in duration. No more than one class may be missed. If a participant misses more than one class and wishes to enroll in a future session, they will be wait-listed pending an available spot.

* Make-up classes are not offered and drop-ins are not allowed.

Remember, you must register in advance if you want to attend. We are enrolling participants on a first come, first serve basis!


About Your Instructor, Margaret Newland

Margaret NewlandWith her background in teaching yoga and stress reduction coupled with the study of human development, Margaret Newland has helped hundreds reduce the level of stress in their lives and discover healthier ways to live more fully.

Margaret has been an adjunct faculty member at Finger Lakes Community College since 1994 teaching Stress Reduction, Yoga and Health. She owns and operates Studio Renew Yoga in Geneva, NY and completed Essential and Advanced Teacher Training with Francois Raoult at Open Sky Yoga. Her educational background includes a degree in Biology from Cornell University and a Masters degree in Human Development from the University of Rochester. She has been teaching the Coalition’s Gentle Yoga classes in Geneva since 2016.
