Have you been diagnosed with breast cancer and prescribed an aromatase inhibitor as part of your treatment (i.e., Anastrozole, Letrozole or Exemestane)? Are you experiencing joint pain or other symptoms and side effects of estrogen depletion?
The Coalition can help you take control of these symptoms and side effects with this ground-breaking program! The program provides:
- Education about this class of drugs and why they have been so effective at reducing risks of recurrences
- Teach stretching and movement exercises to alleviate side effects and provide you with tools to track progress
- Inform about nutritional interventions that may reduce joint pain and other symptoms
- Offer support from survivors who are also experiencing joint pain and other symptoms
This program is offered on 4 Saturday mornings via Zoom and will be facilitated by Nurse Practitioner Carol Giffi, Occupational Therapist Melissa Clark, Medical Doctor specializing in Integrative Medicine Lesley James, and Certified Social Worker Martha Neubert.
The goals of the program are to learn more about the importance of these highly effective drugs as part of your treatment protocol and to learn strategies to alleviate arthralgia-like symptoms through movement and diet.
Sessions are 2 hours in length and participants must be able to commit to the full duration of each session in the series.
Registration is required.
All programs and services are offered at no charge.
Check back for future dates.
Each session meets 1:00PM – 3:00PM and is VIRTUAL via Zoom.
Please note that the program meets for 3 consecutive Wednesdays and then reconvenes one month later.
