Our African Drum Circle offers a welcoming\, culturally grounded space for individuals navigating breast or gynecologic cancer treatment and survivorship. \nDrumming is a gentle\, accessible activity that engages the body while reducing stress and tension. Research shows that group drumming can improve mood\, decrease anxiety\, and even support immune response (Bittman et al.\, 2001). The steady rhythm helps regulate the nervous system\, creating a sense of calm and grounding that many participants carry with them beyond the session. \nThis program is about more than movement. Rooted in African and diasporic traditions\, drumming has long been used as a tool for healing\, expression\, and connection. Participating in a shared rhythm fosters a sense of belonging without the need for words\, helping to reduce isolation and build community. \nWe are committed to offering programs that reflect and celebrate the diverse communities we serve. By incorporating culturally relevant experiences like African drumming\, we create spaces where participants feel seen\, welcomed\, and empowered to engage in their healing. \nNo experience is needed.
