
The Breast Cancer Coalition’s Research Grant Initiative has awarded $1,301,125 to researchers in New York State since 2003. Breast Cancer Research Grants have been are awarded with the potential to yield significant medical breakthroughs in the cause and prevention of breast cancer, prevention of metastasis, and cure.
In 2026, we expanded this commitment by launching a Gynecologic Cancer Research Initiative. This initiative will award up to two grants each year to researchers in New York State investigating screening and early detection, cause, prevention, prevention of metastasis and cure of any type of gynecologic cancer.
These seed grants are intended to fund innovative research projects that have the potential to yield significant medical breakthroughs.

Each year the Breast Cancer Coalition puts out a call for research proposals for the following:
Breast Cancer Research Grants:
- The Sylvia Cappellino Breast Cancer Research Faculty Grant: $50,000
- The Pamela Delp Polashenski M.D. Breast Cancer Research Trainee Grant: $25,000
Gynecologic Cancer Research Grants:
- The Julie Jeffries Gynecologic Cancer Research Faculty Grant: $50,000
- The Gynecologic Cancer Research Trainee Grant: $25,000
