January 19, 2012 a routine mammogram changed everything!
Being diagnosed with breast cancer had to be one of the most terrifying moments of my life. The road began with biopsies, interviewing a medical team, surgeries, chemo, radiation and reconstruction! There are no words!
Once the dust settled I was in search of speaking with women like me and that’s when my relationship blossomed with The Breast Cancer Coalition. I met with Holly Anderson, who took time with me and gave me hope for the future. I met a great woman and survivor that day. I started to attend many of the programs offered to survivors and found great comfort in doing so.
Yeah! Three year survivor!
April 16, 2015 – a back ache will have possibly saved my life!
A broken rib, swollen lymph nodes and bone lesions. Metastatic Breast Cancer! Now what? I already have a great medical team and no surgeries where needed, a new drug regiment and monthly blood work…….let’s pray for the best! That’s when I returned to the Coalition and found the support group for metastatic breast cancer, Common Ground. I immediately fell in love with all these women and our bond is unbreakable. They are my lifeline.
Breast cancer has changed my life for the best. I have a great support system with my son, family and friends and I have met the most beautiful people along the way. I want to thank them for all for filling my heart with so much love and joy!
I am thriving and enjoy everyday!
Thank you to the Breast Cancer Coalition for all you do for the women and men afflicted with this disease! You are so appreciated!
