What We Do

The Breast Cancer Coalition is a community-based, grassroots organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer through action and advocacy.

We are a diverse group of breast and gynecologic cancer activists, survivors, warriors, and advocates. We are women, men, families, partners, mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, and others dedicated to our mission.

We are the only full-scope independently operated organization focused specifically on serving breast and gynecologic cancer survivors in the Finger Lakes, Central, and Western New York regions.

All programs and services are FREE of charge.

Our Mission

To cultivate community among those touched by breast or gynecologic cancer; to empower informed decision-making through education, support, and advocacy; and to advance research in our region with the goal of eradicating breast cancer.

Our Four Pillars

Our History

The Breast Cancer Coalition is a local, grassroots organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer through research and advocacy while fostering community among those affected by the disease through support and education. Our supportive programs are available to survivors of breast and gynecologic cancers in a ten-county region of Western New York State.

We formally organized as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization in 1997 and are the only full-scope, independently operated organization focused specifically on breast and gynecologic cancers in Upstate New York. Our Center is conveniently located within the City of Rochester’s “Art Walk” neighborhood, is handicapped-accessible, and easily accessed by public transportation.
