This clearly would have been a different experience if it had not been for the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.
I received my diagnosis of breast cancer on August 27, 2002 and appeared on their step on September 5th, right after Labor Day. I never left.
There isn’t a person I know who was ever prepared to make the life changing decisions necessary in order to go forward with breast cancer treatment. The depth of understanding, compassion, knowledge and support provided by this organization pulled me through the scariest time of my life.
Now I am giving back as an ardent advocate for women sharing a similar journey. They need to know there is a place of support they can count on. A place they can trust with women who have walked this walk.
