“The Club I Never Wanted To Join.” That’s the phrase tossed around by all of us “survivors”! A true statement, for sure. Having said that, however, I wouldn’t trade my membership for all the riches in the world.
What has my experience with cancer taught me?
Many things: among them humility, gratitude, loyalty, love, responsibility, purpose, spirituality ….
I am humbled by the cancer itself, by the knowledge of my doctors, by the loyalty of my friends and by the love of my husband, children, and family.
I am unendingly grateful for and to these people in my life.
The positive energy in this universe far outweighs the negative. There is a higher being in this world and he/she is present in my life and I have been given a new purpose.
To borrow from Lance Armstrong, a family hero, I have learned the responsibility of survivorship.
The BCCR provides the avenue for me to channel my energy …..
Thank you to this wonderful organization.
