I lived in Queens, NY for 57 years of my life. I was diagnosed in April 2010. My husband had just retired and we had bought a house in Rochester, NY and planned on a wonderful retirement. Then I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, I had surgery on Long Island and had to search for a treatment hospital in Rochester. I somehow found an email for Dr. Marilyn Ling and she so kindly emailed me back and said she would take care of me when I moved and set up an appointment. Scared and unsure of my future I searched for a place to take a yoga class and that is when I found the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. I spoke to Tracey and Holly and knew that there was more to the BCCR than just yoga. It became my new family and I made lots of friends that I cherish still today. The BCCR saved my sanity and taught me about true caring. I believe my moving to Rochester was the best thing I have ever done, it is my home now and I am blessed with good health and friends that are like family.
