Lymphedema Treatment Act
In December 2022, the Lymphedema Treatment Act (H.R.3630) was passed in the 117th Congress and, as of January 1, 2024, the legislation has gone into effect. The Lymphedema Treatment Act requires Medicare to cover the cost of compression supplies for individuals living with lymphedema.
Cardio-Oncology
Cardio-Oncology is a relatively new sub-specialty of cardiology that focuses on detecting, monitoring, and treating cardiovascular disease which can sometimes arise as a side effect of certain cancer treatments. Dana Shannon is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner in the Rochester community who specializes in Cardio-Oncology.
